5 Months

This little monster is 5 months old! I totally planning on doing a photo shoot for him, but things have been crazy busy, so you'll have to settle for a picture from the phone for now. He went to the doctor today, a little behind schedule (that's what happens when you move), but we made it. He weighs in 19.9 lbs and is 26 inches long. As the Doc said, he is GINORMOUS!

At 5 Months our Beckett Boy is:

-Sleeping like a champ. He cries himself to sleep and wakes up around 4:00 am to eat, then back to bed until 8:00ish.

-Loves his brother. Nobody can make him laugh as hard as Tayden.

-Is starting to roll over.

-Is constantly smiling.

-Has started to whine when I leave the room.

-Can spin in a complete circle when laying on his belly.

-Sits up rather well.

-Has started rice cereal.

-Enjoys the water! He loves it.

-Has almost out grown is bumbo and carseat.

-Not the greatest traveler.

-Has red hair!

This chubby little baby makes our family so happy. I can't imagine a day without him. I am so glad the Lord blessed us with this sweet spirit. I thank him everyday for my boys.

Also, we just had our first visitors! Sharlee (Scotts little sister) and her husband Jeff came and stayed for a few days! It was a blast. I will put pictures up soon, but probably not until after my mommy leaves. Yup, my mom is on her way! Can't wait to see her! Its been a fantastic week!

HOORAY!

Pump It Up

This morning we headed to Pump It Up with some friends from the ward.

Its a warehouse full of bouncy houses on steroids. Perfect for Tayden.

A few of the fun houses: The slide was definitely my boys favorite.

Tayden had a blast with his new friends. Sadly to say, this is the only picture I got of Tayden going down the gigantic slide. Funny story though. See how his feet caught under the edge? It sent him spinning the rest of the way down. He laughed and laughed. Every time after that he would get as close to the edge as possible. Dare devil!

He also enjoyed the blow up basketball court. Shocker, right?

All in all I would call the day a huge success.

I think Tayden would agree.

Loving Las Vegas

One reason, among many, I love Las Vegas so far:

The new library down the road and the summer reading program.

For every book Tayden reads, he gets to color a duck. After 6 ducks, he gets a rubber ducky. After 12 ducks, he gets board book.

He is loving it. I am loving it. Every night after Beckett goes to bed, T picks a new library book, cuddles in my lap and we read. We had a pretty good routine of this pre-Beckett, but it started to diminish after he was born. I can't even begin to tell you how happy it makes me to read at night with him again. We read during the day, but it isn't the same. At night, it is just Tayden and Mommy time and I can be 100% devoted to him. We only have to read 1 to color a duck, but we normally end up reading 5 or 6. Bonus for me, I could cuddle that boy all day if he'd let me. Then he colors his duck, shows his dad and he is off to brush his teeth and get PJ's on.

It's been a really fun thing to share with him and a good excuse to get back into the routine of 1 on 1 reading. So, thank you Windmill Library for giving me one more reason to love Vegas and making the move a little easier.

Sunday Slumbers

The best thing about 8:00 (yes, I said 8:00) church is the household nap time that follows.

(Every perfect nap includes a reversible luxury sleeping mask!)

I think I'll go join them.

Hot Wheel Hill

This morning Tayden was in need of some major fun. I had been on the phone for what seemed like hours trying to figure out the boys medical records, new banking, insurance, blah blah blah. Anywho, the boys were being a little neglected. So when I was finished I asked Tayden what he would like to do. This is what we came up with:

Hot wheel hill: And it was awesome! Despite how exhausting our stairs are, especially when toting around Beckett, they sure are fun!

Beckett enjoyed the show too! Isn't he getting so big? I finally was able to set up a dr. appointment for him so we will have official stats next week. Can't wait to see how this guy measures up!

Things in Vegas are going well. We are getting into a routine, Scott has started work and we are settling into life. I am starting to feel like our house is our home and I dare say I'm happy. I love the activities that the city offers, but I love that we can come home to our quiet family friendly neighborhood. The weather has been wonderful so far, ask me again in August, I'm sure my opinion will differ. As we speak I am sitting outside blogging, Tayden is playing in the backyard with Tanner, and Scott is doing yard work. (Don't worry, Beckett is bed...I don't neglect my children that bad!) It's awesome. It's peaceful. Church has been great also. Tayden stayed in nursery last Sunday while Scott and I attended class. That in itself is a miracle. I'm even getting used to the constant air traffic. Again, another miracle. But all in all, I really like.

I think I might even consider it home...

For now.

No Reason...

Tayden, Beckett and I were sitting in the rocking chair and little T fell fast asleep, even after Beckett and I moved. Funny.

Tayden loves to pick his nose, gross I know, we're working on it. Anyway, this morning he was helping brother get the boogers out. How thoughtful.

Beckett is getting so strong and so close to rolling over.

Feeding the Ducks

A few posts ago, I promised pictures of feeding the 'neighborhood' ducks. Well, the pictures are in. We took a walk to feed them tonight and I snapped a few shots. I'll let the pictures do most the talking.

Scott taking Tayden down to the hot spot. You can see the ducks coming up the course. They live, for lack of a better word, at a pond on the golf course.

Now they are really coming.

This mallard was particularly fond of Tayden...and the bread!

And I think the feeling was mutual. Can you see Tayden bending down by the stroller saying "HI" to all his ducks.

And the pigeons too.

And of course, Beckett is chilling in his stroller...again. The problem with having a 20 lb baby is well, he is 20 lbs. He is hard to lug around all day. Thank heavens for strollers and a happy boy who loves them.

The darn ducks would get a little too close for comfort, so Scott taught Tayden how to keep them back. He would say, "Back ducks back", which is a mouthful for a 2 year old! haha

Again with his friend. We might have to name that one. (If we can pick him out of the crowd!) Tayden was telling the duck, "Come'on duck!".

At the end of the day we had one happy little boy!
