Late Night Target Run

Beckett is at the best age. He is so fun to hang out with. He isn't too cool to spend time with his mom and it makes me feel like a million bucks. We went to Target to get some coat hooks for the house and then came home and put them up. It was just me and him for the evening and I loved having some one-on-one time with him.

Blog Books

Maintaining this blog and printing it into books has been a challenge and at times, feels pointless. However, watching my boys look through the latest album makes it all worth it and reminds me why I keep at it. 

 

Tayden is Salmon

Tayden spent a couple of days in Salmon with some friends. They caught a million fish, hunted for rabbits, and tried for a deer, but got a badger instead. He had the best time. I'm so happy he has friends that love the outdoors as much as he does. 

 

Home Sweet Home

Eight and half years ago, when we moved into this house, it was a "good enough for now" house. It wasn't meant to be the house we lived in forever. It wasn't meant to be our last home. At this point in my life, I thought I'd have a nicer, bigger home. 

  Over the years, I have learned that a home is much more than the four walls and decor within. 

 I love my house more than ever. This house has become our home. Where we are safe from the outside world. It's our soft place to land and connect with each other. It's where we have grown, learned, and loved. I wouldn't trade this place for anything. I can't wait to raise my family here. To have sleepovers with grandkids here. And to grow old with Scott here.

Sometimes, when the sun shines through my windows, my heart bursts with love and gratitude for this home. I feel so blessed to live here and in this neighborhood with my family. Life is so so good.

Two of my favorite boys got haircuts and cut off all their curls this week. Look how cute they look! 

 

So This is Love

Another home project. This time, building shelves in the garage. Tayden and Beckett need their own space and their own rooms, so we are converting the storage room into a bedroom. This means the storage room stuff needs a place to go. And that place is the garage. Scott has spent the last two weeks building shelves. I love watching him work. It truly is an act of love!

 

Cache Turns 11

Cache turned 11! Most birthdays, I can handle. This one, I am struggling with! I can't believe he is ELEVEN! He is going to be a deacon! He only has one more year of elementary. He is going to start walking the line of big kid and preteen soon. For me, Cache turning eleven feels big. 

He had a great day. I picked him up from school for lunch, which was so fun. I always enjoy one-on-one time with my kids. Then he had a pretty chill rest of the day. My favorite part of the day was when he opened his gift, fighting Akedo toys, and the boys gathered around and played together (except Tayden, who was at football).

Cache is such a fun kid! I love him. He is smart, strong, and resilient. He knows who he is and doesn't apologize for it. He loves Harry Potter, Taekwondo, and playing Minecraft. He has found his place among friends, which makes my heart so happy. Cache is as good as they come and my love for him as as deep as his dimples!!

 

Goodbye Ashton

We brought the trailer home from Ashton. It's always sad when the camping season comes to an end. Beckett had a morning football game in Rexburg and we continued North after it was over. We stopped at Wendy's on the way and I had to take a picture of our family crammed in the truck, trying to eat our food. The kids are getting bigger and I have a feeling these days of filling the truck are going to be coming to an end. As the kids get older and bigger, their lives get busier and their schedules are different. I'm sure in the near future we'll be taking up two cars, or someone will have to stay home, or  a number of different reasons that we won't be together. And what's not pictured, is the two big dogs in the back. I know I'm going to look back and cherish these days when we all rode to Ashton together. 

We cleaned up quick and Tayden spent the rest of the day fishing. He didn't catch anything until I walked down to get him. It was fun to watch him catch his last Ashton fish of the season. The weather was perfect, the colors were beautiful and the water was still. It was a wonderful ending to a wonderful season. 

 

Drive Past, Drive Thru

Scott took the kids through the drive-thru the other night. He accidentally drove past the window to pay, so Tayden had to use his window to pay. For some reason, Scott turning in his seat to try and talk to the employee and Tayden being weird and awkward had us all in stitches. It's such a little thing, but I want to remember us laughing in the car forever. For one quick minute, we all found the same joy and forgot about all the world around us. We had our own little world of hilarity in the car. It was awesome!
