I Did Something Crazy!

I cooked dinner. I know...crazy right. Well, for my family it is. Due to schooling, Scott and I are never on the same dinner schedule, well, except for on the weekends. I figured that since I have the Digorno pizza and bread sticks box practically memorized, it was time to actually make dinner. So the other night, my mom and I played cook. It was AWESOME! She taught me how to make a super easy, super yummy pasta and we had fun doing it.

Looks good right? Here is how.

Ingredients:
-1 package penne pasta
-1 bag spinach
-1 can olives
-1 container cherry tomatoes
-1 container mushrooms
-1 bag shrimp
-1 tub goat cheese
-garlic

Cook pasta according to package. Let cool. Mince garlic, put in large skillet with a little olive oil and cook on medium heat. Add to garlic oil: spinach, olives, mushrooms and shrimp. Cook until spinach is 'cooked down' and let simmer until most of the moisture is gone. Mix in with pasta and add the tomatoes (I cut them in half) and goat cheese. Stir and Enjoy. I had a balsamic salad dressing that I put on top and it was delish.

Anyway, I am proud.
I think I will try this cooking thing again.
I kind of like it.

D.I Chair

We were at the D.I the other day when Tayden spotted a chair just his size. I didn't have my wallet with me, so my mom bought him the cutest little five dollar chair. It was in major need of some TLC and I was just the person to do it. Haha...yeah right. I had several different ideas and couldn't decide on one, so I incorporated a little of everything. It turned out okay. I like it, don't love it, but I like it. I can't complain too much though, because I had everything I needed laying around the house...so it was a fun free project, minus the five bucks my mom shelled out. With that said, here are the before and after pictures.

Getting Warmer

The weather was so nice today! Not shorts weather by any means, but nicer than anything we have seen in the past few weeks. So, I decided to take Tayden outside to play in the backyard. It's obviously been too long since we went outside because I had no idea how to dress little mister. I guess I thought it was still winter? We had to keep shedding layer after layer. Regardless of how many clothes he had on or how many times he biffed it... he had so much fun. Seriously, I don't think the kid quite smiling. Its going to be one fun summer!

Little boy in our big backyard.

This is how we started the afternoon. Sweater, jacket, mittens and hat. Don't you love this happy little face?

My sister in law showed me how to make the background blurry and focus on the object you are shooting. Thought I would give it a try.

He must have been happy to have his hat and mittens off.

We finally took the jacket off and ended up with just the sweater. It was warmer than I had anticipated!

And of course, we can't go outside without Tan-Tan. You have to admit though, he is one cute pup!

Oh, how I am looking for warmer days to come!

Family Pictures

We got our family pictures back. It was a cold morning and Tayden . was not very willing to smile at the crazy lady with the camera. As soon as she put the camera down though, he loved her and smiled away. Our photographer was great though. She captured alot of cute moments despite our serious little guy. I was hoping there would be a lot of good ones, and there are. It probably would have been easier had there not been as many to choose from. Since I have decided to print my blog, I can't do slide shows anymore...so enjoy all the many many pictures!

Motherhood

You know those days when you just love being a mom? Not like the everyday love being a mom, but the days that are perfect? When everything your child does is wonderful. When every time you look at them they are smiling or making you laugh? When you could stare at them all day in complete awe. When you just can't get enough of them? Today was that day for me. Tayden was just a wonder and joy to be around all day. It seems as though he has grown in leaps and bounds over the last few weeks and he amazes me everyday with his new developments. He is honestly the happiest/funniest little boy I have ever seen. I just love him. Scott also made the day heavenly. He spent the whole day with us. Tayden loves his dad and lights up whenever he is around. Its a beautiful thing to witness. The three of us went to the movie this afternoon. I watched my boys more than the movie. I watched them cuddle. I watched them laugh. I watched them just enjoy each other. Scott is an amazing dad. I love seeing him in that light, it makes me appreciate him so much. Seeing them together is like falling in love all over. I don't even know what to write to express how wonderful today was and how much I love being a wife and mother. Today was the day that made the crying, whining, the late nights, and overall craziness of being a stay at home mom worth it. Love it!
