New Ride

Scott and I had been keeping our eyes open for a bigger car for a couple of months. No, this is not a pregnancy announcement. But, we are looking to expand our family soon. Our Subaru was great for the two kids, but no way could fit three car seats. We wanted to get a car that our family could grow into and would be functional for us for at least the next five years. We weren't looking at buying so soon, but we came across a great deal. A deal that was really too good to pass up. So, we welcome our GMC Acadia to the family.

I love it! The kids absolutely love it. Taydens favorite place to sit is the very very back on the 3rd row. He has his own space, but can be hard to hand stuff to. The other day I told him I couldn't reach him because he was too far away. His reply, "Well, just throw it!" Haha. Beckett loves looking out the windows. Scott and I love the space and functionality.

We've only had it for a couple of weeks, but so far it has been fantastic.
Plus, we have space for 3 more car seats!
Haha. Just kidding, Scott!

Red Rock Walk

This morning we headed to Red Rock for a nice nature walk. The surroundings were beautiful, the company was fantastic and weather couldn't have been better. Plus, we saw a wild burrow. An definite extra bonus.
(Thanks mom and dad for letting me steal your pictures.)

Perfect morning.

Friday Fun

Friday was fabulously fun and partly horrible. The fun part started with the morning spent at our friends house. Tayden and Hannah enjoyed some painting and the moms enjoyed some grown up time!

Aren't they just the cutest?

Well, the fun stopped after that. We went home to take a nap and then were supposed to be off to the airport to pick up my mom and dad. (They bought our car and were coming to pick it up--more on that later.) Tayden has been looking forward to this visit for weeks now--so he was so pumped to go pick up Grandma and Grandpa at the airport. About an hour and a half before we were supposed to leave, I got a phone call from my mom saying their flight was delayed a few hours. Que horrible part of the day. Long story short, they were about 5 hours late. Tayden didn't get to go to the airport and was the saddest little boy in Las Vegas. I'm pretty sure he sat on the stairs and cried for a good hour. Finally, he got himself together and decided to play a new game called birthday party.

Basically, he ripped up an entire magazine and threw the pages up and yelled HAPPY BIRTHDAY. Over and over and over. It was a disaster when he finished, but it put a smile on his face--so it was totally worth it.

My parents finally made it late Friday night. Tayden woke up Saturday morning and was ecstatic. The weather has been pretty crumby, so our outdoor plans were a no go. My mom and I did a little shopping and the boys went to a gun show. Tayden enjoyed a rain dance with grandma. Beckett, he just enjoyed the extra attention.

Its been great having them here. I'm looking forward to rest of their trip.

Book Worm

If I need to get something done and keep my baby Beckett out of the way, one of my go to distractions include a chair and some books.

Keeps this boy busy for hours. Okay, maybe just a few minutes. But I'll take it.

Love my book worm.

MIA

It has been brought to my attention that I haven't blog in eight whole days. I have good reason though: The FLU! I know, we just got over the cold crap--but this week we were hit with the nasty influenza. Poor Tayden got it first. Probably from the one time he touched an un-sanitized Walmart cart. He had the pukes for a few days and passed it on to mommy. Beckett got sick, but luckily missed out on the throw up part. B's main issue this week was teething. He got 3 new teeth, two of which were molars.

Scott was fabulous during the whole thing. It's normally the 3 boys that get sick and I end up taking care of them. But this go around, Scott stepped up to the plate. He took care of kids, washed clothes, cleaned house, and so on and so on. It was a huge blessing having him here so I could rest and get better.

Now, that we are on the mend, I fully intend on getting back on track this week. Tayden could do with much less TV. The house could stand to be cleaned--really cleaned. And the laundry is screaming to be folded. And maybe, just maybe--I'll post some pictures of the boys.

You're welcome, Grandma!

We have a problem

During my nightly pick up, I noticed we have a problem.

Our shoes never make it upstairs. 8 stinking pair of shoes. And that's not including our house sandals we keep downstairs. I don't think we'll ever get used to taking our shoes off downstairs and then taking them upstairs. Ah, please tell me we are not the only ones with this problem!

And, the other problem. Absolutely no pictures from this week. However, Tayden has found a new love for taking pictures with my phone. I'll share a couple.

I love this picture! Tayden was so concerned about the itty bitty scratch on his forehead.

Tanners new perch.

I took these two pictures of Beckett playing outside.

But then Tayden had to take a picture of Woody on the four wheeler too. Yes, he made me hold it there.

He likes to take pictures of Woody. Probably too much. I have to delete 12 pictures of Woody a day.

And with that--that's all I have to share. Hopefully more to come...
I'm ready for a little excitement!
