Baseball

The boys aren't the only thing keeping me busy this summer. Baseball had me on my toes as well. Between the two boys we had three teams and baseball four days a week. It was crazy hectic, but the boys had a blast.

Our schedule was crazy.  And I felt like a circus. Every day, I'd have to unload the boys, the sports umbrella, a blanket big enough to accommodate myself plus other boys, baseball equipment, water, entertainment for the other boys etc. Good thing for my amazing stroller. This baby is a life saver.

I'd push this big old load to the field and set everything up, just to take it down 45-60 minutes later. Loading and unloading the car like this, four days a week. It was exhausting. 

 

Beckett was so excited to play this year. And to his delight, his shirt was orange. His very favorite color. He was convinced it was just for him. He played on the Tigers and really enjoyed himself.

Tayden was on two teams. The untouchables, a neighborhood tball team and the dragons, a coach pitch team. It was so different from Vegas ball, but he still did great and had lots of fun meeting new friends. 

The boys had fun. I'll admit, I bite off a little but more than I could chew. Much to my surprise, I didn't like being that busy. We moved to idaho to give the boys a different live style, and being so busy wasn't what I had in mind. Idaho has so much more to offer the boys, like a friendly neighborhood and friends to play with. There was more than once we skipped out on baseball so we could enjoy the summer. I figure they have the rest of their lives to be this busy and it sure doesn't need to start at four and six. 

Now that baseball is over, I feel like summer can finally start. Which is unfortunate because we only have a few weeks left until school starts. But for our first real Idaho summer with kids, we're pretty happy people. 

Karlson Reunion 2k15

July is one of my favorite months. And a huge reason is the Karlson reunion. Not only do I get to see my extended family, but I get a couple of great days with my brother and his family. 

Justin, Echo and the kids came to our house Tuesday. We hung out for a quick minute, ate some dinner and then went to Taydens baseball game. After the game we headed to ice cream and came home to get a few rounds of red rover and a small football game. My brother is so fun and played with the boys until he couldn't anymore. My boys were so excited to have their cousins at their house for a much anticipated sleep over and haven't stopped talking about how much they loved having everyone over.

We headed to Poky for a few days. We got family pictures and just hung out. Friday we headed to Lava Hot Springs for part one of the Karlson reunion. We swam all day and went out to eat with everyone that evening. Saturday we headed to my Uncle Brutchs house for a day of fun. There was a family soccer game, volleyball game, huge slip and slide, rocket launching and plenty of exploring. It was great to be among my cousins and their kids. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful extended family and to be active parts in each other's lives. 

We tried to play a little prank of sleepy Scott, but of course....we couldn't get him.

I was only semi successful. 

It was a great six days and I miss my family already.

LV kids reunited

Last week we were able to get the Packard and Turney kids together. It was a long six months apart and I was anxious to see them interact again. Tayden was quite the show off for sweet Hannah, showing her his new idaho life and acting all boyish and weird. Beckett and Paige picked up like a day had never passed, chatting and holding hands. It was so great to have our families together again. 

We spent some time here playing in the sprinklers and hanging out. Then we headed to Bear World for an afternoon of fun. This is where the kids really reconnected. Hannah and Tayden were unseperable and I felt as though I was getting a glimpse into the future on their first date. It was honestly the best afternoon.
