2020 Memorial

We had a great Memorial Day! I woke up early and headed to the nursery to grab some flowers and vegetables. Cache and Kyle immediately jumped in and started helping plant. Cache especially loves the garden was thrilled we added a pot of raspberries this year.

Soon after the yard work was done we headed to Inkom to eat with the Packards. It was nice to have everyone together again, minus Matt and Jen, and spend some quality time together. We were able to meet our new nephew, Ashton, who just got out of the NICU. He was so sweet and the boys loved loving on him.

It was a great day and I feel blessed to have spent it with so many great people.

Luna The Big Pink Dog

Luna got a hair cut. And a little something else. The boys wanted to dye her and lets be honest, it didn't take much convincing to get me on board. Scott on the other hand was less than impressed. However, its alot easier to spot her in the forest when we're camping. I'm calling this a win.

Flat Tire Adventure

The kids and I planned a quick afternoon trip to visit my mom and dad. We loaded up, got in the car and away we went. Not far into the trip, about 3 seconds past our driveway, I noticed a funny sound coming from the tire. We took a look and sure enough, I ran over a bolt in the road and my tire was quickly deflating. I called the tire shop and explained my situation. They were more than helpful and got us on our way in less than 30 minutes and even provided the kids with some entertainment as well. The boys were quite interested in the whole process and loved our extra adventure.

We hung out at my parents and the older boys finished their school work for the day. When they were done they headed over to my grandmas for a fun project. My grandma Karlson has always been artistic and loves to share her passions with those she loves. I remember many times as a girl doing stained glass or painting with her. Now, I watch her share it with my boys and it warms my heart. They are working on glass paintings. Tayden got done with the first step, and the other boys aren’t too far behind. I love that we have these memories with her.

BB hunting

Get ready for Ashton post after Ashton post. We plan on spending the majority of the summer at Snackards and its never short of stories that need to be documented. The latest being the great BB hunt. Uncle Matt got Cache a BB gun for his birthday and he has been dying to shoot it. This weekend was the perfect time to take it out and Scott even surprised the older boys with BB guns of their own.

After a night of instruction and target shooting they were ready to take the guns into nature and hunt. Beckett shot a chipmunk. Beckett and Tayden teamed up later on in the day and got another chipmunk.

After the BB hunt was over, the boys went on to hunt water life. They caught multiple frogs and turtles and Cache even caught a snake.

It was a great weekend. My favorite part was the s'more roast we had as a family. I stood back and listened to Scotts stories and the boys laughs and my heart was completely content. I can not tell you how grateful I am for this piece of land we get to call home away from home.
