Small Kitchen, Big Love

 I was watching a show the other day, where a couple was trying to find a new house. Every house they looked at wasn't quite good enough. The paint color was off, the cabinets were ugly, or the kitchen was too small. There was something wrong with every single one. It really got me thinking about how grateful I am for my home. It's nothing fancy, but it's ours and it's safe. 

Our kitchen in particular is quite small. It's not the kitchen I would design or call my dream. However, this kitchen has helped feed my family for eight years. It has housed many late-night conversations with my husband, or kids as they come in from being out with friends. This kitchen has witnessed my children learning to make pancakes and hamburgers, and creations of their own. I've helped the kids with homework as I cook dinner in this kitchen. From the sink, I've been able to watch the lives of my kids unfold. I've lived life in this kitchen. 

This small kitchen is a blessing. This kitchen helped our house become our home. And I will always be grateful for it. 

Taekwondo Tournament

 Cache had another taekwondo tournament. He got second place in board breaking and third in forms. He loves Taekwondo. 

White Beard

 Scott is always joking about my white hair. Jokes on him, because we found a handful in his beard. And they are way more noticeable than mine. The joys of aging! 

End of Year

The boys had their last day of school. Beckett finished sixth, Cache finished fourth, and Kyle finished second. It was a great year!

Tayden didn't go to his last day of eighth grade. Most of his friends went to Lagoon on the last day, but because of his broken collar bone, he had to stay home. 

We're so ready for summer! 

 

My Swing

I love my swing! I spend lots of time out there reading, relaxing, listening to podcasts, watching the dogs, or just soaking up the sun. Lots of times, I have visitors. Either the dogs or one of the boys. It has become a place of bonding and I cherish these afternoons. 

 

Sixth Grade Graduation

Beckett closed his elementary school chapter this year. Sixth grade has ended, and he is off to middle school. They celebrated with a program. The kids sang some songs and at the end, a few moms did a surprise dance for the kids. Beckett wasn't even embarrassed a little and loved my part in it. I love how much he loves me. He is a great kid and did great things this year. I love watching him grow. 

 

Memorial Weekend

We kicked off Memorial Day Weekend in Ashton. It was a crazy long winter and our first weekend up there. We were so happy to finally get up there. Sully loved his first trip up there too, though he was a bit confused about where to ride in the car. We spent the weekend playing, relaxing, fishing, and of course a little bit of work. 

The older the kids get, the busier life gets. We don't anticipate a lot of time up there this year, so we are going to take it when we can.
