We took family pictures this morning.

It snowed. It was COLD!

We had to layer.

When we got home, I took off Taydens button up shirt and sweater vest so he wouldn't get too hot. This left just his undershirt and a jeans, or so I thought.

I forgot he had PJ bottoms on under his jeans. He, however, did not forget and took them off himself.

He tried at least.

I found him playing in his room like this. I don't know how long he waddled around before I saw him, but it didn't seem to bother him too much.

I got a good laugh.

We made it home.
Tired.
But in one piece.

And let me tell you, it was fun!

I'm still tired from the trip, it is 12:30ish, but I was dying to post about our roadtrip. So I hope that this makes sense....

The total trip was about 3200 miles or about 40 hours in the car. Tayden was a champ during the whole thing. He had his moments of frustration, but for the most part was amazing. He is such a good little traveler.

We had so much fun in Texas with my family. I haven't seen them for a few months, so it was really great being able to spend the week with them. We went to Sea World, The Alamo, The River Walk, The Children's Museum, and spent loads of time just hanging out with each other. I seriously couldn't have asked for a better time.

Thank you to Justin and Echo for your amazing hospitality. I always leave feeling guilty because you guys wait on us hand and foot! You guys rock. Thank you to my mom, dad, and sister for all your help with Tayden. I couldn't have done it without you guys. Thanks to Scott for taking off school and flying down for a few days to spend time with us.

Okay, so we got Tayden a backpack harness because 1.) He loves to walk whenever possible. 2.) I thought Sea World was going to be super busy and didn't want him to get stolen.

Well, as you can see. I was wrong. There was plenty of room for him to walk around and not get lost in the crowd. My brother laughed and told me I was a zookeeper. Not going to lie, sometimes I feel like it!

We had so much fun in Dallas, and are lucky enough get to go again in May. I can't wait!! Thanks again to my awesome family. It was the best vacation ever!!!

A Bump In The Road...

How ironic that I just posted the other day and had nothing to say. But today, I have something worth talking about.

We had a bump in the road.

Scott didn't get into his program. They cut the intake of students from 17 down to 14. He missed getting in by one point! So, instead of starting Electronic Systems and Robotic Engineering in September, he starts in January.

At first, we were not so sure about how to feel about the set back. He has worked so hard this semester and is seriously pulling some great grades. But, a wonderful opportunity has presented itself. He is going to work for LDA Security as the head of the Security System team until he starts school again. He will manage all the security system accounts and basically be in charge of the whole department. It is going to be a lot of work, but is excited to do it. He has a lot of good ideas and can't wait to get started! It is an amazing blessing and is going to give us the chance to save enough money to get through school.

We are so blessed that Scott has this job lined up and didn't have to find a temporary job that wouldn't have half the benefits this one is offering.

I am grateful for the power of prayer. I know the Lord has blessed us because we have asked for his protection and guidance. I know he knows our position and knows what is best for us. I know that if we follow his lead we will not be lead astray. I know he loves us and wants what is best for us. I know if we have faith in him and continue to strive to do what is right he will never abandon us.

So, we had a slight change of plans, but I think it is going to work out for the best. I am so proud of Scott and his hard work. He truly is an amazing person and has the best work ethic of anyone I know. If anyone can make lemonade out of lemons, he can. He will do great!

Now, off to Texas.

Random Facts

I leave for Dallas on Wednesday and have had the urge to blog before I leave. But unfortunately have nothing of great worth to blog about. As I rocked Tayden tonight, (Yes, I still rock him. It is my guilty pleasure.) I tried to think of something to write about. My mind was blank. I have many friends that are so creative and share wonderful things through the blogosphere, but I have yet to catch creative bug. I decided on sharing some random facts about myself, because that is as inventive as I can be tonight. Enjoy

*I am a list maker. I swear by them, live by them and honestly would go crazy without them.

*I rub my eyebrows to help me relax and go to sleep. Weirdest thing really. One day when I was about 13 years old, I laid my head in my moms lap. I asked her if she would rub my eyebrows. She chuckled and proceeded to tell me that she rubbed my eyebrows when I was just a babe to help me go to sleep. It stuck with me all those years. True story.

*I refuse to do the dishes after I shower. If they don't get done before, chances are they won't get done until tomorrow.

*I enjoy numbers. Not math, but numbers. I like days like today... 3/7/10, because 3+7=10. A small joy.

*I love spotting deer on the mountain side. Whenever we go to Inkom or anywhere near the mountains, I'm looking out the window ... guaranteed.

*I am a bit obsessive about cleaning my house. It gets harder and harder with a toddler, but I still try.

*I didn't learn to snap until I was 15.

*I have incredibly flexible fingers. And when I say incredibly, I'm not joking. The tip of my pointer finger can touch the top of my wrist. Awesome.


Well, I guess that is all the random facts about me. Well, at least for now. Its late and I seem to be running out of steam. I hope to be able to blog about my trip while I am on the road, but if not.... you'll get the full update when I get back. Ah, 2o hours in a car with my little Tayden...wish me luck!

Tayden and Tanner

Tayden and Tanner are best friends. Tayden adores his doggy. I thought it would be fun to document a day with these two crazies, but that is alot easier said than done. They are both too fast and busy to capture the true love of these two. With that said, here are a few pictures from the day.

I had to add this picture! Scotts parents got this little fleece jumper for Tayden on his birthday. It is a little big, but kept him so warm! He loved getting out of the house and breathing some fresh air!

Today The Doorbell Rang...

"Sweet Tie Buddy!"

Those were the words of my bishop this morning when he saw Tayden wearing this...

I have to admit he was looking pretty dapper in this HOMEMADE tie and $5.oo shoes! (What a steal right?)

This is the first tie I have made him. There are a few little adjustments that I need to make for the next one, but all in all it turned out cute.


I tried to get some pictures of him in the actual outfit, but have you ever tried taking pictures of a rambunctious one year old after church. He was ready to run, so this is the best I could get. The only thing keeping him half way still was Tanners ball. Yum!
