Labor Day

We had the very best Labor Day Weekend. The Dalleys came up and spent the long weekend with us in Ashton. It was a little rainy with cooler weather, and it was so wonderful. We had a great time fishing, building bike ramps, painting, playing games, and hanging out.

I love the Dalleys and spending time with them. The kids get along, Scott and Jeremy can talk about anything and I'll take all the time with Nicole I can get.

First Day of School 2023

This summer felt so short! Usually, by back to school, the kids and I are ready for summer to end. But this year, I wasn't quite there. I wanted to keep them home a little bit longer. However, the day came and they all did great.

Cache and Ky started the day and headed to Woodland Hills Elementary at 7:45. They didn't need me at all and asked them to just drop them off at the parent drop-off loop. I thought I would be okay with it, but I wasn't! I just couldn't not watch them walk into their first day, so snuck onto the playground and watched them. They found their friends and ran to their new classrooms without looking back.

Beckett helped them pick out their first-day outfits. They were so cute in their matching Jordan shirts!

Tayden and Beckett went to school later in the morning. A new school for both of them and they did great. Beckett started at Sandcreek Middle School and Tayden started at Hillcrest High School. It's crazy to me that I have a high schooler! They both did great on their first days and I am so proud of who they are becoming.

Grid Kid

Beckett started Grid Kid this year and per usual, is loving it. He is a rock star on the field and usually plays the whole game. The coach will give him a water break every now and then, but not too often. He is a main part of the team and does a great job on offense and defense. He loves football and I love watching him play!

37

I turned 37 this year. As all my birthdays have been for the last six years, it involved back-to-school night and football. If you ask me, it's the best way to spend my birthday. Hanging out with my kids and celebrating the life I have been able to live with them.

Scott made sure I had a special minute for me. After Taydens football game, his parents, my parents, Ashley, and Jeff  and Sharlee and the girls came over to the house for pie. They sang me happy birthday and we spent a few minutes together, chatting and laughing. It was the best evening.

I'm so grateful for the years I have lived on earth. I realize what a privilege it is to grow old. I'm thankful for the life experiences and wisdom I have gained. I love my confidence as a wife, mother, person, and daughter of God. I'm comfortable in my own skin and do my best to find the goodness in people around me. I am proud of who I am and who I am becoming. I'm excited to see what this next year holds.

High School Football

Tayden started his first year of football. It has been fun. Intense, but fun. His practices were four hours, five days a week during the summer! He was so excited about his first game that he laid his uniform out to, "check out his drip". He used to do that in elementary, and it was so fun to see him do it again. He even asked Cache to teach him how to fold his uniform.

On the field, Tayden is a force to be reckoned with. His team has had a rough start, but the varsity coach pulled him aside and told him if he kept it up, he had a bright future with Hillcrest Football. We even had a coach send us a note in the mail telling us how impressed he was with Taydens work ethic, coachability, and talent. This boy loves football!

Middle School, Again

Another year of middle school open house. This year, with Beckett. Other than his locker being on the bottom, it went really well. He found his way around, met up with friends, and got excited for middle school. He is going to have a great year!
