Ammon Swimming

As the temperatures neared 100, we decided to go swimming. I took the boys to the Ammon pool for the first time ever and it was so fun. I even convinced Beckett and Brody! It's just a small pool that does 90-minute swim sessions, which was perfect. The little boys met up with some friends there, swam their hearts out, and ended the afternoon with snowcones. It made me love where we live even more! 

 

See Ya, Coda

Coda has spent the last year in Rexburg going to school and now it's time for him to go home. Justin flew down so he could drive back to Texas with him. We had a few days with my brother, which was amazing. I love my big brother! 

 Coda isn't sure if he's coming back, so it was extra hard to say goodbye. We have absolutely loved having him here. He's been an extension to our family and we feel his absence already. As usual, I cried saying goodbye to my brother, but I cried harder saying goodbye to his son. 

 

Kyle and Mom

Scott helped with dinner one of the nights at Boys Camp. Tayden was still at FSY and so Kyle and I found ourselves home alone. He had been missing his brothers terribly. He spent the whole previous night in tears because he missed them so badly. Since we had the evening to ourselves, what better way to spend it than on an adventure. 

He chose Wendy's for dinner. Even though I gave him many other options. Then, we rented electric scooters at the Greenbelt by the temple. He has wanted to do that for years and was so excited! We ended the night with Twisted Sugar cookies and a movie in bed. It could not have been more fun. 

I loved spending one-on-one time with him. He is such a funny kid. I was working on saying, 'microscopic" with him. After about five times he said, "How about Micro-STOP IT!" His wit kills me. He is fiery but has so much love and such a tender heart. The evening to just focus on him was exactly what I needed. 

 

Young Mens Camp

Beckett and Cache recently went to Youngs Mens Camp. Tayden was already signed up for FSY and missed camp this year. At first, I was super bummed for him. But after I heard about how camp went for the two other boys, I'm glad he wasn't there. I heard from two leaders what a great big brother and help Beckett was to Cache. 

On the first day, they did Baptisms for the Dead in Rexburg and did the ropes course. Beckett does not like heights, so I was so proud of him when I heard that he faced his fears and completed the course. They spent the rest of the day at the cabin, hanging out and having fun. Cache found a little nook under some stairs and set up his sleeping stuff there. He felt so cozy and a little bit like Harry Potter and couldn't wait to sleep. However, when night fell, he got nervous. Beckett traded him for his bed so that Cache would feel more comfortable. 

The next day they spent hiking. Beckett helped Cache pack his lunch and made sure he had plenty of water. The hike was hard. 13 miles hard! Beckett carried Caches pack for some of the way and made sure he stayed hydrated. When they got to the lake at the top of the lake, Beckett made sure Cache stayed in the shallow end and stayed safe. I was so proud of both of them for finishing. 

Hearing all these kind things that Beckett did warmed my heart. They have a rough relationship at home, but I was so glad they had the chance to bond at camp. Beckett might tease his Cache, but he is a loving and protective big brother. I know when Beckett is around, everything will be okay. 

 

Late Night with Hansens

Jodie and Clay Hansen needed to spend an evening at girls' camp for Bishopbric and Wives night, which meant we got to have Owen and Norah over for the evening. We had fun eating scrambled pancakes, playing games, and going on a walk. You should have seen the circus we were...two dogs, four kids, a skateboard, a bike, and a wheelchair. With only one mom! It was hectic, but the perfect way to spend the evening! 

 

July Fourth

 We had a great Fourth of July this year! I love Independence Day. I love gathering with family, the fireworks, the parade, the joy and easiness of this holiday. This year was extra special as Nicole Dalley and her family joined us for the Inkom Parade. Even better was showing up in the same outfit! Her sweet daughter, Lucy, was terrified of the loud sounds, so Nicole and I hung out with her in Grandma Great's house and watched from the window. I missed watching my kids and taking pictures during the parade, but I cherished those moments with Nicole and Lucy. 

This year, we had almost all of the Packard extended family celebrating together. We were only missing one of his cousins and family. I love being a part of this bunch!
