Tayden HOCO

Tayden went to Homecoming with his cute friend, Averie. They went hiking during the day and got dressed up for the dance later that evening. They looked so great together and had a lot of fun! 

 

Round Two

Tayden's season ended as quickly as it started. Eight plays into the game, Tayden went for a bad pass, trying to force a play, and fell hard on an outstretched arm. He tapped out of the game and went straight to the trainer. I kept an eye on him, praying he'd be okay. But I knew when the pads came off, he was really hurting. I immediatly went down the sideline and saw the tears in his eyes. He told me he broke his collarbone. He could feel it. We took him for an extra and sure enough, it was broke.

My heart breaks for my boy. He loves football. He has worked so hard in the off season. However, I am so proud of him too. He has maintained such a positive attitude. He still goes to the practices and cheers his team on from the sidelines. 

The healing time is about nine weeks, but we'll get him xrayed in six to see how its looking. He's hoping to play a game at the end of the season and for his sake, I hope he gets to. 

In the meantime, I'm enjoying brushing his teeth and washing his hair. I'd do anything for this kid and cherish the sweet moments I get to take care of him. 

 

Hillcrest Football

Football has officially started. I love watching my boys with the same school. They're on different teams, but they get the chance to talk on the sidelines, which is my favorite thing! 

 

Lunch Date

The best part of teaching at Woodland Hills are the weekly lunch dates I get with my boy!

 

Newbies

 Cache and Beckett started new schools this year. Beckett at Hillcrest High and Cache at Sandcreek Middle School. I was working, so I didn't get to drop them off for their day. Talk about a heart breaker. Luckily, Scott was around and took Cache to school, while Beckett caught a ride with friends. They are both doing so well in their new surroundings and I'm so proud of them. 

Even though I didn't get to drop them off at school, that wasn't the hardest part of the new school year. The hardest part is the fact that I didn't get a picture of Tayden on his first day. He started school a day later and both Scott and I were working, so there wasn't anyone there to take a picture. He started his Junior year and is doing great. I cant believe he only has two years left in school!

Woodland Hills Warriors

Kyle and I were the only ones headed to elementary this year. Kyle in 5th and me in my first year teaching. I love that I get to teach in his school! 

 

Grid Kid Game

I thought our Grid Kid days were over, but Kyle decided to play this year. He's new to football and has mixed feelings about it, but as the season goes on and he becomes more comfortable, he's liking it more and more. He loves being a part of the big team and having more times with his friends. He doesn't love practices, but he likes the games. I'm just so proud of him for doing it, even when its been hard. He had daily practices in 95* weather for the first three weeks. He hated it and we had tears a few times, but he always walked away with a smile, proud of himself. I can't wait to watch him grow over the next few weeks!
