Early Spring Break

For Spring Break this year, Scott and I really wanted to go somewhere and do something fun with the kids. We landed on going to a Utah Jazz game and spending a couple of days in Salt Lake City. We booked the hotel and picked out our tickets. The day I was supposed to buy the tickets Scott called and said, "Wait! Don't buy the tickets yet!" I was sure something came up at work and he wasn't going to be able to go with us. However, he told me his work was going to have a "Jazz Day" in a couple of weeks. The tickets include court time for the kids, courtside seats during warm-ups, catered dinner, and skybox seats. Even though we won't have as good of seats as the original game, we de decided the extra perks were worth it and decided to go that route. However, we still had the hotel booked, so we choose to go down for a fun one-night getaway.

We got to our hotel Friday night and swam for a little bit before we went to dinner. When we got back the bigger boys headed out to play basketball while the little kids hung out with Dad in the room. After a loooooong night, we woke up and grabbed breakfast. Dad took the big boys to play more ball while I took the little kids to swim some more. We ended the day shopping at Scheels, Ikea, and Smith and Edwards.

It was a quick trip, but so fun to get away for a minute. We can't for our Jazz Day in a couple of weeks!

Neptune

Beckett had a presentation on Neptune at school. He made his costume all by himself and I think it turned out really cool. He loves creating things!

PInewood Derby

Last week, Caches church group, had a little pinewood derby activity. It wasn't a true pinewood derby, as they just raced their cars down a single wood track, but Cache was still excited. He was really happy with how his "webber" car turned out ... until the race started. His group was measuring distance and every time Cache's car went down, it crashed at the bottom. Apparently, he was so upset, he threw his car away. When he came home and told us about it, Scott immediately started apologizing. He had cut the car backward, so the front wheels were actually further from the front, causing it to crash. It was a big bummer! After we learned what happened, we all got a good laugh. RIP Webber

Trigger Finger

Months ago, Tayden hurt his pinky during football. With time it healed, but never really worked the same. Lately, it's been getting worse and he's losing mobility. We showed Dr. Dan, and he decided it's most likely trigger finger. For now, we are treating it with a splint and ibuprofen with hopes that the swelling will go down and the tendon will straighten.

Saturday Swimming

The day we had been waiting for finally came. Our first Saturday without basketball! Basketball has ruled our lives since October and we couldn't wait for a Saturday to have to ourselves. However, halfway through the day, the kids decided they were bored. Naturally! We took them to Golds to swim for the afternoon. Even Tayden, who was sure he was too cool to have fun, ended up enjoying himself. I call it a win.

Dinner Run

The other night we couldn't decide what to eat. Well, more specifically Scott couldn't. It started out as pizza, then to Chinese, followed by Wendy's and he finally landed on Firehouse subs. We got something for everyone along the way. The two little boys wanted pizza, the bigger boys wanted hamburgers, I settled on Mo-Bettas, and Scott got his sub.

I gave Scott a hard time as we drove around town looking for his dinner, but truth be told...I loved spending the extra time with him. I'm pretty lucky to be married to someone so awesome.

Toothless
