Holy Cow. I can't believe it, but I made it through the week alive. This week was a doozie. Here is how the past few days went for everyone.
Kyle- He had an okay week. He has started to climb out of his crib, so naps have been less than ideal. Which translates into a rough afternoon with a cranky baby. He hasn't complained about the extra mom time while his brothers are at school, but he misses them while they are away. He throws major fits when he doesn't get his way, but we are all learning to adjust and figuring out what works and what doesn't.
Cache- All of a sudden, Cache is super picky about the way his clothes fit. Like, ridiculously picky. He doesn't like his shirts to be too long or his pants to saggy. He has all of 2 shirts that he likes right now and it has made getting ready for preschool major drama. He loves preschool and hasn't had any issues going, except for when one of his shirts are dirty. I had to take him an hour late the other morning because of a fashion dilemma. However, Cache has had one major accomplishment this past week. He learned to ride his bike without training wheels! We spent a couple of days in Inkom with Scotts parents and Cheryl and I worked him for a while. He was only riding a couple of feet before putting his legs down and stopping the bike. As we were getting ready to go for a bike ride, he grabbed his bike and started off. Grandma explained to him that he didn't quite know how to ride yet, but he insisted that cousin Aimslee had showed him how. And sure enough, he hoped on the bike and took off. We busted up laughing! And he's been riding like a pro ever since.
Beckett- Here is where things got fun. And by fun, I mean completely miserable. Smoke from the Montana fires have settled over Eastern Idaho, but mostly right over my house...or so it seems. Poor Beckett's asthma/allergies have really flared up. The whole time I thought it was a cold, so I kept shoving Day Quil down his throat, but to no avail. Finally, as I was laying in bed one night, the spirit spoke to me and said, "Wake up Dummy....its allergies!" Not in those exact words, but I felt it very strongly and all of a sudden I knew it was the smoke. I gave him some Zyrtec and it helped with the coughing and runny nose, but his breathing was still really bad. I kept him home from school and took him to the doctor, who took one listen and immediately prescribed a steroid to open up his lungs. Super long story short, his breathing has been better, but the steroids give him diarrhea. He hates going to the bathroom at school and it has been fight to get him there in the morning. He has been late every day this week. And not by a couple of minutes, by hours. Getting him to school has been a nightmare. Between feeling crappy, diarrhea and the adjustment to going all day...he has been a wreck. However, he has made it everyday, so I am counting that a win. He told me when he came home today that school was really good and he was excited to go back Monday, so we are crossing our fingers that it goes better with a whole lot less tears.
Tayden- Just doing what he does. I can always count on him to help out when things are getting hard or stressful. He was a pure angel this week as I struggled with his brothers. He helped make his lunch, got everyone breakfast and was kind most the week. Somedays I wonder what I would do without him. Whatever I did with Tayden, I did it right. He is a great help.
Stacey- Exhausted and ornery.
Scott- The smoke has been getting to him as well. And of course, he had to work outside all week. He has been going all week and ended up working an extra day today. So needless to say he has been tired and feeling pretty crumby. And on top of that he had a circus at home and school to boot. He's a trooper.
It's been a long week. I am really looking forward to the next week and crossing my fingers that life happens a whole lot smoother.
